Welcome! I’m so happy you’ve stopped by for a visit.
My name is Kate. I’m a mom, a wife, an attorney, and a health and wellness enthusiast. I have an intense love of learning, and when I became a mama in 2014 to my little guy, Carter, my love of learning became super focused on how I could be the best mom I’m capable of being, and on how to create a healthy environment for my son, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Our baby girl, Kensley, joined us in 2017, and I have loved continuing to learn about cultivating that environment for both of our kiddos.
Now that I’m a mama, I value my life in a much different way. I find extraordinary purpose in parenting, and now I don’t want to be healthy solely for me. I want to live a long, healthy life, not just because that’s human nature, but because I want to be here to see my kids grow and raise kids of their own.
If you’re a parent (and even if you’re not!), I’m sure you can relate. Most of us want a long lifespan. But I’ve learned there is a big difference between lifespan and healthspan. We each have one life, and I think we can agree we want to live it with good health and vitality. So, I started Love, Health and Home to share things I’ve learned along the way about the steps we can take (both big and small) in our lifestyle choices to improve the healthspan of ourselves and our loved ones.
So much goes into this equation. Much more than eating veggies (which we should do! yum!). The basics do matter—eating healthfully, exercise, and good sleep—but living consciously, mindfully, and with love toward ourselves, others, and the environment, matter equally as much.
I hope the tidbits you find on this blog help you in some way on your journey cultivating love and health in your home.
Cheers!
Kate
